A prince once welcomed and beloved in his country…
Máedóc was forced to abandoned the country and palace he was beginning to come around to. His hand was forced by his older brother, the first to the throne, out of fear for his life. Being threatened with various assassins being sent on him along with a bounty over his head for a large lump of money. This hell broke loose after his father passed away in a slow and painful death- a cause which is still obscure to most. Máedóc didn't have time to pack more than the clothes on his back and money in his pocket, nor the swords in their scabbards.

Though, despite all this, somehow the prince had managed to make it out fine. Going by an alias until he knows the coast is clear to reveal himself- how long this may take he doesn't know…along with how far he must travel. For now he is either simply roaming the lands or making a living doing various jobs around areas, or in some cases owning an inn to bring in cash flow.

Máedóc can be a very stubborn man, unwilling to budge on certain moral aspects- mostly in the treatment of women and children. At the same time, he expects no stubborn attitudes from the people around him, mostly to avoid bashing heads together he'd rather take the leadership portion all together. He can be quite optimistic at certain time and when in certain moods, generally he keeps pretty up beat. However, he is also very quick witted, this seems to land him in too many hard spots at once.

Personality

ESFJ-T | Maedoc could be summed up to the big brother type, despite never really being viewed as a big brother to anybody. With compassion and loyalty, he makes for good company when mutual respect is shown. Though, said respect must be shown for his family and friends as well, without such compliance he will be skeptical of an outsiders intentions. This respect complex he carries translates into every single action and decision he makes, he may not like you as a whole, but should he respect you? You will be treated vastly different than from having a lack of it. Without it, one can quickly find themselves being left behind, threatened, ordered around, barked at, and if on his bad side- nearly killed when coming within his sights.

However, Maedoc is fiercely protective of respected members of his social web, even more so if these respected members are family, friends, or children he has sired. Should any one of these people find themselves feeling unsafe or vulnerable, he will quickly and nearly blindly protect them. Such blindness, is his biggest weakness, he often forgets to look for possible traps in the haste to save and guard. Though when not trapped or tricked to save those he cares for or respects, the man will prove to be quite aggressive to the attacker or possible enemy. Putting himself between the said member of the respected social web and the enemy, often threatening or snarling. In cases of which he has a sword, he will draw and be in a strike or parry pose until the offender has given up, attacked, or submitted.

Which brings us to another point, he has a natural gift for being a leader, with the mindsets to accomplish and think of all, he can quickly rally large forces. This being said, he doesn't like being a leader, he greatly prefers a quiet life compared to the bustling and rushing of a royal one. To most this would be a good waste of a powerful gift, one he uses quite rarely, but always to his benefit and other's. It's this leadership he has they also intertwines with his deep respect for all other people, regardless of their race and cultures, he will try his best to understand and accommodate. But this leadership is also built upon the relationships he builds by sheer kindness and quick humor as well, finding himself good company to almost all men and good at comforting most even when he has no way to relate. Máedóc figures there isn't a good shepherd's pie and a big mug of ale won't fix- along with some good yarns to pass around the table with others.

However, due to Máedóc's extreme sense of right and wrong, most who violate it will find themselves on the losing side in a fight with a very strong and righteous man. He is extremely hard to persuade on these morals, close friends and lovers will find it very difficult to get him to change his mind on actions he may come to regret very much so later. With this stubborn and righteous mindset comes a quick mouth too, one that if set off, lands him in serious trouble often. Thankfully, he is capable of clawing out of said troubles due to his skills, but it doesn't justify his rash actions to pick or start needless fights all because of his sense of right and wrong. Same time, he is also easy to provoke without hurting family and friends- you simply need to call him dumb. This is the last thing he likes to hear, even if it is true, and will end with him being pissy or aggressive with the offender.

Relationships

Father & Mother

Relationship Between the Parents~

Maedoc's parents were none too fond of each either as their union was a result of arranged marriage through the Council's demands. They liked to keep Emrys bloodline as "pure" as possible, which meant marrying him off to a woman of similar standings, which was Idelisa in this case. However, the two never hit it off, having met each other prior to the marriage or even having really heard of each other. This relationship was far from a simple dislike, it was built on hatred for the other partner. They were two very morally different people, Emrys being more of the "Lawful / Neutral Good" type and Idelisa being more "Chaotic Neutral" type, possibly "Chaotic Evil" at times as well. They saw their marriage simply to produce heirs to Emrys' throne…and they most certainly did just that. Having five children between themselves, the throne would safely be secured to Emrys' bloodline- this was simply the only portion of their relationship that the two could agree on. Besides that, Idelisa would accuse Emrys' of cheating on their marriage until the day she died. Ironically enpugh, Emrys did indeed cheat on her with a long-time lover and friend, Claudia Remonte, with her he would have one son. This son is Collin Remonte, just a year younger than Maedoc, and a child born out of wed-lock but raised into a dysfunctional family with the upmost love his father and mother could give. Claudia and Collin would never leave their small village, and could never tell a soul who his father really was, but gifts and occasional visits would be rained upon them. Moving back to Idelisa, she would avoid him at all costs out of pure disgust and dislike for the man. Idelisa would also keep all the children under her watch and away from Emrys out of fear that he'd taint them, all but Maedoc for a very petty reason. Emrys, on the other hand, lived with the bittersweet notion he would never really know his children and that they would be swayed to be as morally twisted as their mother- which is partially the reason why he favored Maedoc to be next in line.

Relationship with his mother~

Maedoc and his mother were at odds the day he had been born, while all had been overjoyed the second child to Emrys and Idelisa was another boy- Idelisa was none to joyed over the color of his eyes. In her family, crimson colored eyes were not a gene carried and were not a gene favored. To Emry's bloodline, crimson eyes were a sign of the connection they carried to Othrys, which was a close one. The eye color to them was a way to exhibit that connection of their bloodline, it was also common knowledge that nearly every man with crimson eyes to that line was a man of great leadership and respect. Once the eye color was revealed to the public, they were even more overjoyed that a king could possibly arise out of Maedoc. Idelisa loathed this and the attention her second son turned away from her first and most favored child. Thus within his first few weeks of life, Idelisa claimed Maedoc was sick and simply not keeping down what she fed him. In truth, she was feeding him very little at all, hoping he would parish under the notion that he was a sickly infant with little strength to survive, which would be two crushing blows to Emrys. She nearly succeeded too, at the end of the day what had saved Maedoc from a premature death was the kindness on of the maids showed. She had passed it to her king their Maedoc wasn't sick and instead just denied food, immediately Emrys took his second child and raised Maedoc under his own wing. This effectively made Maedoc very much influenced by his father's morals and overall personality as a king. From this point on, Maedoc would forever be disliked and pitted against his mother and siblings. For 10 years Maedoc would be abused by his siblings and mother: emotionally, mentally, and physically. Such abuse was encouraged by Idelisa to instill in his 4 siblings that Maedoc was below them- this would stick with them until they matured. Even then, only two siblings would come around to see their brother's heart and true colors. What ended the torment, would be when Emrys walked in on Idelisa actively hitting Maedoc for fidgeting at the table during dinner. Emrys would lose his temper and become thrown into rage- where he effectively threw Idelisa out of the castle window. Thus, ending the torment and abuse he received from his mother.

Relationship with his Father~

Due to Idelisa's neglect, Emrys had taken Maedoc into his care where he would thrive and flourish to be like his predecessors. The king had shown his son the ways to be a fair and just leader, taking great pride when his son exhibited these traits as well. Though the infant and toddler years, had been the most taxing on Emrys and he couldn't always protect Maedoc from the mother that showed him nothing but hatred, he would be able to protect his son from most at the expense of his stress levels. Though, Emrys would argue that this stress was worth it.
