Vaeridien Black-Sun grew up in a small village in the Haza Savanna. Vaeirdien grew up with many of the other children in his village and was a leader to them. He was looked upon with pride and was often the topic of discussion in the meetings of his parents and others. Vaeirdien was prone to fits of a murderous rage when he his leadership was questioned and when some of the children would not follow him. Vaeirdien had been playing with a child in the woods near his village when the child threw a stone which hit Vaeirdien and drew blood. Vaeiriden began his first transformation and shifted into the shape of a wolf and slaughtered the child. The Elders of the villge discovered his actions and banished him after his parents asked for the council to take mercy on him. Vaeirdien survived for many years in the wild on his own until he reached the city of Kurayo.
