As a Sailor she is charged with keeping the boat in tip top shape. Her job specifically was a Boatswain she would load cargo and swab decks. She was proficent with cutlasses, daggers, and crossbow bolts.

Backstory: Delana is a sailor, shipping out with boats, being free on the open sea. Her home village was on the bank of a sea and slowly became a thriving village of halflings fishing, and coastal trading was their best assets. Her father, Fresik, owned a fishing company, in that village that is a man with great stature. Her mother, Malia, was chosen for him from when they were very young. As the tavern keeper's daughter she worked long hours serving beer to those who visited, and to the retired regulars when their bones creaked and ached. Delana has a betrothed set up for her future as well if she is ever back to reclaim it. It is customary for the family who earns the most to bring a gift for the other family. This meant Delana must search for a gift to impress her to-be in laws. It is understood this pilgrimage or quest may take several years. Thus she set up to sail off with a crew making some new trade routes in lands she has never seen.
With the first few stops going rather smoothly, she sailed on. Along the way she learned to fight, tie knots, navigate only using a chart the stars and the wind. She would send letters back at every port informing her parents of her continued quest. One night she spent the night in the cabins writing of her latest adventure when a massive crash came from another part of the ship and the water flooded the lower decks in mere minutes.
